Hi there, I'm Giulia
Professional: project manager; parent; an expatriate residing in Rome, Italy.
Some years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of our long-range plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks often seemed trickier than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something steady.
Why I Built Golden Paper Meadow
Most online guidance was either corporate-relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to fill that void — practical guidance drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience gained while living in Italy
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site is NOT:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Italy continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Giulia
